Project Bleve

I love guerrilla marketing. Low or no cost exposure for something worthwhile by pouring a lot of energy, creativity, and elbow grease into a single moment. Project Bleve was exactly that. Late 2009 I teamed up with Dar Caldwell, of Goldstain Caldwell & Associates to create a giant public mural that would capture the attention of not just a few people in the city, but millions all over the country. How? It’s best to just watch the promotional/viral video that I produced for the event. It tells it all.

Our mission is to encourage people to do something. To act now. To create. To enjoy life as it is available to you right where you are.

There is no time to wait for bureaucracy, it’s time to work together to do something amazing. Whether it’s completely original or an old idea that’s worth creating again, we can use our talent to do immeasurable things.

Support for bleve will help fund young entrepreneurs and their ideas for innovation

We wanted the exposure to get the attention of civic leaders and investors to ask, “who did this?” and hopefully find some financial support for the business incubator where we could continue to build great things. Unfortunately the project, which spotlighted Lebron James, never came to fruition. We recruited over 150 registered volunteers and made over 200lbs of chalk to cover the plaza, but on the day of the event mother nature gave the city of Cleveland a bounty of rain fall. I tested the chalk, it wasn’t going to work. It was really tough, but I made the decision to postpone the event and worked very hard to coordinate a new date. The trouble was that the gateway economic development group which controls the plaza would not allow project bleve (even though it was a temporary art project) to use the space.

I may attempt to use the branding and contact list to coordinate a mural (with a different image) sometime during this nba season… possibly around a Cleveland – Miami game. We’ll see… Check out the web page www.webleve.com
