Green Fox Enterprise is a lawn care company specializing in chemical lawn applications to keep lawns green and free from weeds and insects. My father, Jerry, has run the company for 20 years so I knew quite a bit about how he ran his business but it was still a discovery process to make his website. He was concerned that having a website would make him seem like something he’s not, He’s a small business guy and grows his business by doing good work and having people notice. He didn’t want people to find him on the internet and call him to get the lowest rate that they could for service. I understood of course, I needed to be careful to represent him in a way that was true to how he conducted his business and true to how his customers perceived his business.

Everything became clear when I sat down and interviewed him to write the site copy.

This is now one of dozens of his little quotes  that I believe transcends industry, and speaks well as general business advice.  His customers appreciate this individualized service and about their personal relationship, so I decided to take a classic spokesman marketing approach. The copy is all first person, the tone is personal, and I even took his picture to slap on the front page. When you visit the site, you feel like you’re talking to Jerry Fox.
